Advantech, Octon Intelligence Team Up to Lower AI Agent Barriers as Silicon Photonics Advances

Companies seeking to deploy AI agents often face hurdles including model integration, data governance and shortages of development talent. Advantech has partnered with Octon Intelligence to combine edge-computing hardware with generative AI technology and accelerate the adoption of agentic AI. Meanwhile, silicon photonics, co-packaged optics, or CPO, and advanced packaging are becoming critical technologies for improving data-transfer efficiency in AI chips.

The recent viral popularity of OpenClaw’s “lobster-raising” application has drawn attention to the prospect of companies building their own AI agents, prompting Advantech and Octon Intelligence to propose a partnership aimed at lowering deployment barriers. Separately, NVIDIA and TSMC continue to invest in silicon photonics, CPO and advanced packaging as AI computing shifts from training toward inference. The reports did not disclose the partnership date or its value.
