AUO Secures NT$40 Billion Syndicated Loan Led by Bank of Taiwan, First Bank
AUO Corp, one of Taiwan’s leading display-panel makers, has been expanding beyond its traditional manufacturing business into smart mobility, vertical solutions and low-carbon technologies. The NT$40 billion ($1.3 billion) financing strengthens its funding base as it invests in artificial intelligence, smart solutions and green-energy procurement while managing existing debt and working-capital requirements.
Bank of Taiwan and First Commercial Bank jointly arranged the NT$40 billion syndicated loan, which was recently signed, though the report did not specify the signing date. Commitments reached 2.62 times the original facility size, indicating strong lender demand. AUO plans to use the proceeds to repay financial liabilities, fund working capital and purchase renewable energy, while accelerating its AI transformation and development of smart solutions.
