First Commercial Bank
First Commercial Bank is a major state-controlled Taiwanese bank with operations spanning corporate banking, consumer finance, trusts and overseas branches. Recent developments include the relocation of its New York branch, the launch of online applications for supplementary credit cards and its role as lead arranger for major syndicated loans involving WPG Holdings and Phison Electronics. It is also expanding sustainable and senior-focused finance through social responsibility bonds, ESG-linked syndicated loans, biodiversity initiatives and reverse mortgages. Its cross-border expansion, digital services and public-policy role reflect the transformation of state-controlled banks and merit continued attention. FirstBank Puerto Rico is a separate institution with a similar Chinese name and is not Taiwan’s First Commercial Bank.
