RingCentral Expands ChatGPT Work and Codex Across Engineering and Operations

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-13 · Last active 2026-08-13

RingCentral, a cloud business communications provider with nearly three decades of operating history and more than $2.6 billion in annual revenue, is broadening its use of generative AI beyond software coding. By putting ChatGPT Work and Codex in the hands of employees across functions, the company aims to shorten the path from idea to shipped feature while supporting products including AI Receptionist, AI Virtual Assistant and AI Conversation Expert.

OpenAI detailed the rollout in an Aug. 12, 2026 case study. RingCentral’s Office of the CEO sponsored an AI-Native Challenge in which thousands of employees, including nontechnical staff and executives, handled planning, implementation, testing, documentation and deployment with ChatGPT Work and Codex. The company said on July 23 that workers completed 2,500 software projects in under 30 days. Its program management office also uses ChatGPT Work to pull updates from Jira, Google Sheets and CRM systems, identifying blockers, owners and next steps before meetings.
