Ethereum Stablecoin Supply Hits Record $180 Billion
Stablecoins are on-chain tokens designed to maintain their value against assets such as the U.S. dollar and are widely used for trading, payments and settlement. Ethereum has a mature smart-contract and DeFi ecosystem and is also a leading platform for deploying tokenized real-world assets, or RWAs. Its stablecoin supply is therefore regarded as a key gauge of on-chain capital activity.
The latest Token Terminal data show that stablecoin supply on Ethereum has reached an all-time high of $180 billion, accounting for about 60% of the overall market. Token Terminal estimates that Ethereum could attract $850 billion in additional capital by 2030 as RWAs expand and traditional financial institutions enter the market.
