ETHZilla Rebrands as Forum Markets in RWA Tokenization Pivot, Shares Jump More Than 13%
ETHZilla launched an Ether treasury strategy in August 2025 and initially benefited as ETH rose. After both the cryptocurrency and its shares declined, the company gradually sold ETH and shifted toward tokenizing cash-generating real-world assets. It aims to reduce the price exposure associated with simply holding crypto by earning yield, issuance fees and asset-management fees.
Nasdaq-listed ETHZilla announced on February 25, 2026, that it would change its name to Forum Markets and begin trading under the ticker FRMM on March 2. Its shares rose more than 13% to $3.91 on the day of the announcement. The company has spent about $4.7 million to acquire 95 residential mortgages and $12.2 million on two CFM56-7B24 engines, which it plans to tokenize through an Ethereum Layer 2 network and Liquidity.io.
