WisdomTree, MoonPay Broaden U.S. Access to Tokenized Treasury Fund

2 reports · First detected 2026-09-17 · Last active 2026-09-18

WisdomTree’s Treasury Money Market Digital Fund, or WTGXX, is a regulated, tokenized mutual fund investing in U.S. government securities and seeking to maintain a $1 share price. The product combines the cash-management role of a traditional money market fund with blockchain-based ownership and settlement. Its broader distribution matters because tokenized real-world assets have largely targeted institutions, while the tie-up tests whether regulated Treasury exposure can reach eligible retail investors through familiar digital-asset infrastructure.

WisdomTree and MoonPay announced their strategic collaboration on Sept. 17, 2026, with WisdomTree developing a WTGXX access point using MoonPay’s technology and platform. The planned channel could extend distribution beyond WisdomTree Securities to MoonPay’s network of more than 35 million accounts and over 1,700 partners. MoonPay also plans to include WTGXX in its stablecoin reserve management. The fund held about $1.23 billion and recorded $466 million of net inflows over the preceding 30 days, while WisdomTree managed roughly $176.7 billion overall.

WisdomTree Tokenized Treasury Fund Wins SEC Approval for 24/7 Tradingfirst seen 2026-02-25 · 3 reports · similarity 0.79 · same topic: Asset Tokenization

WTGXX is WisdomTree’s tokenized U.S. Treasury money market fund, registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, with its shares circulating on a blockchain. Traditional mutual funds are constrained by business hours and net asset value calculation schedules and generally cannot trade around the clock. Allowing a regulated fund to enter a 24/7 secondary market is therefore an important Wall Street test of using on-chain assets for cash management.

On February 24, 2026, the SEC granted WisdomTree an exemptive order, while FINRA authorized WisdomTree Securities to provide liquidity for WTGXX through a dealer-principal model. The fund trades at $1 per share and offers instant on-chain settlement via USDC to institutional clients of WisdomTree Connect. As of April 28, it had about $858 million in assets and a seven-day annualized yield of approximately 3.43%.
