Cash App Rolls Out USDC Payments on Solana to 60 Million Users

2 reports · First detected 2026-05-28 · Last active 2026-05-28

Cash App is Block's mobile payments platform, while USDC is a Circle-issued stablecoin designed to maintain a 1:1 value with the U.S. dollar. Embedding blockchain transfers in a financial app used by nearly 60 million people could lower barriers to crypto payments and bring Solana's low-cost, fast settlement capabilities into the U.S. retail market.

Block began a phased rollout on May 27, 2026, initially giving about 25% of users access and planning to make the feature available to all eligible customers by the end of that week. Cash App now supports Solana, Ethereum, Polygon and Arbitrum. Users can send or receive USDC directly from their dollar balances, initially without fees or the need to set up a separate wallet.
