Singapore’s DBS to Offer Tokenized Gold to Retail Customers

2 reports · First detected 2026-06-11 · Last active 2026-06-11

Singapore’s DBS is combining gold investment with blockchain tokenization, allowing retail customers to hold an interest in gold through familiar banking channels without directly storing bullion. The move reflects traditional financial institutions’ continued expansion into digital-asset services and lowers the barrier for individual investors seeking exposure to the physical gold market.

DBS said it plans to launch the tokenized gold product through its digibank platform in the second half of 2026. Each token will represent 1 gram of physical gold held in a Singapore vault. DBS is also considering listing the product on the DBS Digital Exchange (DDEx) to provide additional trading and distribution channels.
