Largan Reportedly Enters Nvidia’s Rubin Ultra Optical Supply Chain
Largan Precision, best known for high-end smartphone camera lenses, is reportedly expanding into fiber array units, or FAUs, used in optical communications. These components require highly precise fiber alignment and coupling, which directly affect data-transfer efficiency in high-speed computing systems. A successful move into AI infrastructure would give the Taiwanese supplier a potential growth engine beyond its mature handset optics business.
Largan has reportedly joined Nvidia’s optical communications supply chain as a direct supplier and entered the ecosystem around Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.’s COUPE process. Market speculation points to mass production beginning as early as the second half of 2027, with Nvidia’s next-generation Rubin Ultra AI platform seen as a possible initial application. The companies have not confirmed the supply relationship, production schedule or order volumes.
