Mastercard and NCCC Hold Summit on Payment Security and Data Trust in the AI Era
As agentic AI increasingly completes purchases and payments autonomously, payment companies must reassess risks involving identity verification, transaction authorization, data use and fraud prevention. Mastercard and Taiwan’s National Credit Card Center have therefore brought together financial regulators and industry partners to build a trusted payment foundation before AI-powered commerce takes shape.
Mastercard and the NCCC held the Payment Security and Data Trust in the AI Era Summit on July 20, 2026. Financial Supervisory Commission Chairman Peng Jin-lung said the regulatory priority was “responsible innovation” that also addresses risk governance. The NCCC is combining blockchain and FIDO technology to build a digital identity authentication system and promoting cross-industry collaboration to develop a local AI agent. The organizers did not disclose an investment amount.
