The history behind this eventG-Dragon Agency Galaxy Corporation Eyes 2027 Listing, Betting on AI Entertainment Technology to Disrupt K-Pop
Galaxy Corporation was founded in South Korea in 2019 as an entertainment technology company combining AI, robotics and content production. Its roster includes G-Dragon and Song Kang-ho. Unlike SM, JYP and YG, whose models rely on human trainees, Galaxy aims to turn idols into digital intellectual property that can be operated sustainably. G-Dragon, Jay Chou, ADATA and more than 30 South Korean institutions have invested in the company.
Galaxy was reported on April 8, 2026, to be preparing an overseas pre-IPO funding round, with the goal of listing in both South Korea and New York in 2027. It has raised about $150 million in total. The company plans to launch a four-member virtual girl group in 2026 and says its AI music and video tools can cut the roughly $2 million cost of producing a South Korean music video by 90% to 99%. G-Dragon generated nearly 300 billion won in revenue in 2025 and received a share of about 60 billion won.
