Taiwan’s Inaugural Data Governance Summit Pushes AI-Ready Ecosystem

Generative AI deployment increasingly depends on more than model performance. Organizations must also address fragmented data, inconsistent definitions, uneven quality and unclear accountability before moving projects beyond pilots. The Taiwan Data Management Association convened the event to promote governance frameworks, common standards and quality controls that can make enterprise data reliable, traceable and ready for AI use at scale.

The association recently held the inaugural Taiwan Data Governance Conference, bringing together representatives from industry, government and academia to examine barriers to generative AI adoption. Participants agreed that high-quality, standardized data with clear ownership is essential to scaling AI applications and building trustworthy systems. The conference positioned data governance as core organizational infrastructure for creating an AI-ready data ecosystem, rather than a compliance exercise added after deployment.
