The Australian Signals Directorate, or ASD, has outlined an enterprise framework for post-quantum cryptography migration, aiming to help organizations manage a transition that could span information technology and operational technology systems, vendors and critical infrastructure dependencies.

ASD’s latest guidance details its LATICE framework and urges companies to identify where legacy asymmetric cryptography remains embedded across IT and OT environments. Organizations should use six assessment considerations to prioritize remediation and build a cryptographic bill of materials, or CBOM, linked to existing asset and vulnerability-management tools. The agency said inventories should be continuously maintained so businesses can begin preparations early and advance migration in manageable stages.
