Singapore’s MAS Launches FFI, Elevating AI and Tokenization to National Financial Infrastructure
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has established the Future of Finance Institute (FFI), signaling that AI and tokenization are no longer merely tools being tested independently by financial institutions but are now part of the country’s financial infrastructure. The move could help harmonize technical standards, reduce adoption costs and strengthen Singapore’s competitiveness as an international fintech hub.
Under the latest plans, the FFI will integrate three flagship initiatives — Project Guardian, Orchid and PathFin.ai — and establish four core capability pillars. It will provide financial institutions of varying sizes with one-stop deployment support and testing environments. As of July 20, 2026, available information had not disclosed the institute’s establishment date, investment amount or formal launch schedule.
