First Bank Relocates New York Branch, Expands Cross-Border and Digital Finance Footprint
First Bank has operated in New York for more than 30 years, establishing a presence in 1990 and upgrading it to a branch in 2010. As Taiwan-U.S. supply chains are reconfigured and Taiwanese companies increase investment in the United States, the New York branch has become an important conduit for cross-border capital flows. Its operational upgrade is strategically critical to sustaining the parent bank’s growth after it posted 2025 net profit of NT$25.663 billion and surpassed NT$5 trillion in assets.
First Bank’s New York branch began operating from its new premises on the 35th floor of 777 Third Avenue on December 22, 2025, and held a reception to formally celebrate the relocation on July 10, 2026. Besides providing more office space, the move sharpens the branch’s focus on high-growth industries including artificial intelligence and green energy. It is expected to improve the efficiency of cross-border digital financial services and further expand First Bank’s overseas network, which comprises 44 locations across 17 countries.
