Rambus Unveils PCIe 7.0 Switch IP for High-Bandwidth AI and HPC Markets
PCI Express 7.0 raises per-lane speeds to 128 GT/s, making it an important interconnect standard for scaling AI clusters, cloud data centers and high-performance computing systems. Rambus is entering the market with switch IP designed to help chipmakers build low-latency, high-bandwidth and resource-disaggregated architectures, easing scaling bottlenecks in next-generation systems.
Rambus has unveiled PCIe 7.0 switch IP incorporating time-division multiplexing (TDM), which can dynamically allocate link bandwidth and improve utilization. The technology targets the AI and HPC markets. As of July 20, 2026, Rambus had not disclosed the exact announcement date, licensing fees, customer list or mass-production timetable.
