Taiwan Financial Holdings Leads State-Owned Peers in Profit, Launches RWA Tokenization Pilot
Taiwan Financial Holdings, centered on Bank of Taiwan, has long carried out both public-sector financial policy and commercial mandates. While sustaining profit growth, the group is also advancing digital finance through a real-world asset (RWA) tokenization project. It is exploring how blockchain could streamline interbank clearing and physical withdrawals of precious metals while improving transaction efficiency and traceability.
Taiwan Financial Holdings posted pretax net profit of NT$32.7 billion in 2025, retaining the top spot among Taiwan's state-owned banking groups. Profit exceeded NT$10 billion in the first two months of 2026. The group is continuing its RWA tokenization pilot, focused on mapping precious-metal assets to on-chain tokens and testing processes for interbank clearing, transaction records and physical withdrawals.
