AI Growth Intensifies Cybersecurity Threats, Driving Sharp Rise in Corporate AI Security Budgets

1 reports · First detected 2026-04-30 · Last active 2026-04-30

As generative AI and large language models (LLMs) proliferate rapidly, companies are expanding adoption and security investment while facing pressure from a lower barrier to launching attacks. A string of attacks involving AI tools such as LiteLLM and LMDeploy shows that hackers are targeting the window between vulnerability disclosure and completed remediation, heightening the risk of an imbalance between attackers and defenders.

iThome released its corporate cybersecurity survey in its April 27–30 weekly security report, showing that overall corporate cybersecurity investment budgets rose sharply by 13% from the previous year. Among companies with annual revenue of NT$10 billion, AI-related budgets surged 111%. The figures indicate that companies are moving faster to strengthen AI defenses as vulnerabilities are rapidly weaponized.
