Nasdaq Files With SEC to List Nasdaq-100 Binary Options
Nasdaq plans to bring prediction market-style trading to a regulated securities exchange through binary options linked to the Nasdaq-100 Index and its Micro Index. Investors would make “yes or no” calls on specified outcomes, showing how traditional exchanges are responding to demand for event-driven trading and competing with Cboe, which has taken similar action.
Nasdaq has filed a listing proposal with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. The contracts would settle based on whether the Nasdaq-100 or Micro Index meets a specified outcome, but the products remain subject to SEC review. Available information does not disclose the filing date, planned launch date, contract value or fees, and the final terms and rollout schedule await confirmation in regulatory filings.
