Cardano Summit 2026 Canceled After Governance Vote Falls Short
The Cardano Summit is a major annual event for the Cardano ecosystem and had been scheduled to take place in Singapore in 2026. The Cardano Foundation sought 7.8 million ADA in community funding for the event. The proposal also served as a key test of onchain governance, as tokenholders' approval of the spending would directly determine whether the large ecosystem event could proceed.
The Cardano Foundation confirmed that the 7.8 million ADA funding proposal narrowly failed to meet the required threshold in a 2026 governance vote, prompting it to cancel the Cardano Summit 2026 in Singapore. Founder Charles Hoskinson subsequently proposed a smaller “MiniSummit” to coincide with TOKEN2049 in Singapore in October 2026.
