Cathay to Raise First Active ETF Focused on Three-Stage AI Investment Strategy

Cathay Securities Investment Trust plans to launch its first active ETF, 00400A, using active stock selection to navigate market volatility driven by the U.S.-Iran conflict, oil prices and inflation. With Taiwan at the heart of the AI supply chain, the fund will target opportunities across three stages: AI infrastructure, software applications and AI PCs, seeking to capture the industry’s growth trend.

Fundraising for 00400A is scheduled to begin on March 23, while institutional investors have highlighted semiconductor, power-supply, thermal-management and high-power-related stocks. The latest developments show that the net asset values of both 00400A and 00401A have moved into positive territory and surpassed NT$11 per beneficial unit. As fewer stocks outperform the broader market, active stock selection has become increasingly important.
