Cathay to Raise First Active ETF Focused on Three-Stage AI Investment Strategy

4 reports · First detected 2026-03-19 · Last active 2026-04-15

Cathay Securities Investment Trust plans to launch its first active ETF, 00400A, using active stock selection to navigate market volatility driven by the U.S.-Iran conflict, oil prices and inflation. With Taiwan at the heart of the AI supply chain, the fund will target opportunities across three stages: AI infrastructure, software applications and AI PCs, seeking to capture the industry’s growth trend.

Fundraising for 00400A is scheduled to begin on March 23, while institutional investors have highlighted semiconductor, power-supply, thermal-management and high-power-related stocks. The latest developments show that the net asset values of both 00400A and 00401A have moved into positive territory and surpassed NT$11 per beneficial unit. As fewer stocks outperform the broader market, active stock selection has become increasingly important.

Fubon’s First Active Taiwan Equity ETF 00405A Set to Open for Subscription May 18, Targeting AI Supply Chain2026-05-05 · 1 reports · similarity 0.81

Fubon Asset Management is launching its first active Taiwan equity ETF, Fubon Taiwan Longyao (00405A). Instead of simply tracking an index, the fund will allow its manager to adjust holdings actively, targeting long-term growth opportunities across the AI supply chain and seeking excess returns amid sector rotation and diverging stock performance in Taiwan’s equity market.

Fubon Taiwan Longyao is expected to open for subscription on May 18 and will use the SBM qualitative stock-selection framework. Its investment scope covers AI, semiconductors, optical communications, high-speed transmission and copper-clad laminates (CCLs), with an additional focus on identifying small- and mid-cap stocks with growth potential. Currently available public information does not disclose the planned fundraising amount.
