Kalshi Strikes Brand Deals With Five MLB Teams
Kalshi operates a federally regulated prediction exchange where traders buy yes-or-no event contracts whose prices imply probabilities. Sports contracts have become central to its growth, but they also sit at the heart of a regulatory dispute: Kalshi classifies them as derivatives overseen by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, while several states contend they amount to sports betting. MLB already has a league-level prediction-market partnership with Polymarket, making Kalshi’s team-by-team push a significant expansion into mainstream sports marketing.
On Aug. 25, 2026, Kalshi announced multi-year brand partnerships with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Atlanta Braves, Boston Red Sox, San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants. The agreements cover ballpark signage, digital and radio promotions, branded spaces and fan activations; at Dodger Stadium, the Gold Glove Bar is being renamed the Kalshi 435 Club. Kalshi said nearly 13 billion baseball-related contracts had traded in 2026, 36 times the roughly 355 million recorded over the comparable 2025 period. Financial terms were not disclosed.
