Taiwan Forum Maps Four Pillars for AI-Fintech Competitiveness
Taiwan’s strength in semiconductors and artificial intelligence gives it a potential edge in financial technology, but turning technical expertise into scalable services will require clearer regulation, trusted digital infrastructure and a deeper talent pool. The fourth AI FinTech Development Forum identified stablecoins, AI-enabled digital trust, financial inclusion and capital as the four pillars likely to shape the island’s next phase of financial competitiveness.
AI FinTech Association Chairman Yao Mu-chuan said at the forum that Taiwan should accelerate the legalization and regulation of virtual assets, creating clearer rules for stablecoins and other emerging financial services. Representatives from government, industry and academia also called for stronger digital-trust safeguards and talent-development systems, arguing that both are essential to deploying AI and fintech at scale and converting Taiwan’s existing technology advantages into sustained industrial growth.
