OpenTrade Raises $17 Million to Expand Stablecoin and RWA Applications
London-based OpenTrade provides stablecoin yield infrastructure and a real-world asset lending platform. It helps fintech companies, exchanges and wallets deploy funds held in USDC, USDT and other stablecoins into real-world assets such as money market funds, commercial paper and trade finance. The model allows companies to avoid building their own custody and investment systems, while underscoring stablecoins’ expansion from payment tools into gateways for onchain yield.
OpenTrade announced a $17 million funding round on May 6, 2026, led by Mercury Fund and Notion Capital, with participation from a16z Crypto and others. The round brought its total funding to more than $30 million. Its TVL has surpassed $200 million, while transaction volume exceeded $250 million in 2025. The proceeds will be used to expand its permissioned and permissionless infrastructure as well as its asset management and trading teams.
