Trellix Source Code Exposed as RansomHouse Claims Successful Breach
Trellix is a cybersecurity company that provides threat-detection and protection services to businesses, and its products may have access to critical customer systems. A breach of its source-code repositories could expose intellectual property and allow attackers to analyze its products for vulnerabilities, increasing cybersecurity risks across supply chains and customer environments.
Trellix recently confirmed that some of its source-code repositories had been accessed without authorization and said it had opened an investigation to determine how the breach occurred and assess its actual impact. Ransomware group RansomHouse claimed it had compromised the systems and stolen data. The exact date of the breach, the volume of data exposed and the ransom amount have not been disclosed.
