MoonPay Adds Discover to U.S. Crypto Onramp

1 reports · First detected 2026-08-27 · Last active 2026-08-27

MoonPay provides payment infrastructure linking traditional money with digital assets through wallets, exchanges and other applications. Adding Discover gives its U.S. crypto onramp access to the country’s three major card networks, alongside Visa and Mastercard. The expansion matters because card availability remains a key point of friction for retail users seeking to move funds into crypto, while payment providers are competing to embed digital-asset purchases in familiar checkout experiences.

MoonPay said on July 23, 2026, that U.S. Discover credit and debit cardholders could use the network to buy and sell crypto across more than 500 enterprise partners. Discover joins payment methods including Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal, Venmo, bank transfers and regional payment rails already available through MoonPay. The companies did not disclose a transaction value or other financial terms for the integration.

MoonPay said on July 23, 2026, that eligible Discover Network cards can now be used for cryptocurrency purchases and sales in the United States. Discover becomes the third major US card network supported by the company, and the capability extends across MoonPay’s network of more than 500 enterprise partners.
