SinoPac’s First Active ETF to Open for Subscriptions, Targeting Taiwan’s AI Supply Chain

1 reports · First detected 2026-07-09 · Last active 2026-07-09

Artificial intelligence is driving a global industrial revolution, with Taiwan’s stock market entering a fourth technology bull run because of its pivotal role in the semiconductor and AI supply chains. As capital becomes increasingly concentrated and sector rotation accelerates, traditional passive ETFs cannot adjust their holdings quickly enough to keep pace with rapidly changing market conditions. Active ETFs, which offer manager-led stock selection and flexible allocation, are therefore emerging as a new battleground for asset managers seeking to help investors capitalize on the technology upgrade cycle.

SinoPac Securities Investment Trust has formally announced its first active ETF, the SinoPac Taiwan Technology Trends Active ETF (00410A). The fund will be issued at NT$10 per unit, with a minimum subscription of NT$10,000, and will open for subscriptions from July 13 to 17. It will focus on Taiwan-listed companies in the AI supply chain, using active stock selection and flexible allocation to give investors exposure to the technology bull market. The launch marks an important milestone in SinoPac’s entry into the active ETF market.

Fubon Asset Management is launching its first active Taiwan equity ETF, Fubon Taiwan Longyao (00405A). Instead of simply tracking an index, the fund will allow its manager to adjust holdings actively, targeting long-term growth opportunities across the AI supply chain and seeking excess returns amid sector rotation and diverging stock performance in Taiwan’s equity market.

Fubon Taiwan Longyao is expected to open for subscription on May 18 and will use the SBM qualitative stock-selection framework. Its investment scope covers AI, semiconductors, optical communications, high-speed transmission and copper-clad laminates (CCLs), with an additional focus on identifying small- and mid-cap stocks with growth potential. Currently available public information does not disclose the planned fundraising amount.

The fund aims to capture opportunities for excess returns as the industry expands.

The Mega Taiwan Harvest Active ETF (00996A) is scheduled to begin fundraising on March 4, 2026, with Wang Chung-liang serving as fund manager. It will use a dual-track strategy combining active stock selection with quantitative models and target growth themes in both electronics and non-electronics sectors. Its fundraising target and initial fund size have not yet been disclosed.
