Saudi Arabia Moves to Tokenize Its Economy and Bring Trillions of Dollars in Assets Onchain
As part of its Vision 2030 transformation, Saudi Arabia is exploring the tokenization of real-world assets on blockchain to make ownership, collateralization and settlement more efficient. droppRWA Chairman Faisal Monai previously led the development of SADAD, the Saudi central bank's payment system. SADAD processed 14.5 billion transactions worth about $250 billion in 2025, providing a foundation for nationwide onchain finance.
CoinDesk reported on May 15, 2026, that droppRWA had secured real estate tokenization mandates totaling $12.5 billion. On February 4, it completed the world's first transfer of a tokenized property deed, cutting settlement time from days to seconds. By the end of 2026, the platform plans to work with Saudi Arabia's Capital Market Authority and central bank to introduce stablecoin settlement for real estate, before expanding into trillions of dollars in assets across sectors including energy and manufacturing by 2030.
