AI Skill Demand Doubles in G7 Cybersecurity Jobs

Employers increasingly want staff who can engineer prompts and context, coordinate multiple AI agents and validate automated decisions. As agents take over repetitive frontline work, SOC analysts are shifting toward investigation, judgment and oversight, making human accountability more important rather than less.

New research shows the share of cybersecurity vacancies in Group of Seven countries seeking AI skills doubled within a year to nearly 30%. Prompt engineering, context engineering and AI-agent orchestration have emerged as common core requirements. The shift is also lifting demand for senior cybersecurity professionals, as companies need experienced staff to manage complex incidents, supervise agent-driven workflows and control the operational risks created by wider AI adoption.
