AI Demand Drives Record March Exports

Taiwan is a major hub in the global semiconductor and information and communications technology supply chains, making its export performance a longstanding barometer of the technology cycle. As investment in artificial intelligence, high-performance computing and cloud services drives demand for chips and servers, customs export data from the Ministry of Finance has become an important gauge of momentum in those industries.

Ministry of Finance data showed Taiwan’s exports reached $80.18 billion from March 1 to 31, setting a record for any single month. The increase was driven primarily by AI-related orders as demand grew for high-performance computing equipment and cloud infrastructure, underscoring technology products’ central role in lifting Taiwan’s exports to a new high.
