Toyota Finance Opens Tokenized Bond Sale via Toyota Wallet
Japanese companies are increasingly using blockchain to digitize conventional securities, seeking to streamline issuance and broaden investor access. Toyota Finance’s integration of a tokenized bond into the TOYOTA Wallet payment app is notable because retail buyers can subscribe without opening a securities account, while the company can connect fundraising with Toyota’s wider payments and mobility ecosystem.
Toyota Finance announced in August 2026 that it would offer 1 billion yen ($6.8 million) of tokenized bonds carrying an annual interest rate of 1.72%. The securities run on blockchain technology provided by BOOSTRY and can be purchased directly through TOYOTA Wallet. Investors will also be eligible for benefits tied to the Toyota ecosystem, including wallet rewards and vehicle test-drive offers.
