Monzo Launches Aura Card With Auto-Invested Cashback
Monzo, the UK digital bank known for app-based current accounts, savings and lending, is extending into embedded investing with Aura, a metal credit card that can automatically channel cashback into Monzo Investments. The product turns a conventional card reward into recurring investment contributions, lowering the friction of putting small sums to work. Customers can choose from funds and ETFs, while retaining the option to receive cashback rather than invest it.
Monzo began rolling Aura out to its first UK customers on Sept. 16, 2026. The card offers uncapped cashback of 1% on groceries and 0.5% on other purchases, costs £15 a month or £180 a year, and carries a credit limit of as much as £15,000. Monzo waives its investment platform fee, though BlackRock management charges still apply. The package also includes Apple TV, Google AI Plus with 2TB of storage, two airport lounge passes and two fast-track security passes annually.

The history behind this eventMonzo Business Tops 1 Million Customers
Monzo launched Monzo Business in March 2020 to serve sole traders and small companies with app-based accounts, invoicing, expense management and tax tools. The push took the London-based digital bank beyond its consumer roots and into a market historically controlled by Britain’s large high-street lenders. Reaching seven figures is therefore a marker of how quickly mobile-first banking is gaining ground in small-business finance, where owners increasingly value real-time cash-flow visibility and automated administration.
Monzo said on July 28, 2026, that Monzo Business had surpassed 1 million customers, making it the first UK digital bank to reach the milestone. The total represents roughly one in six UK businesses and has doubled in less than two years. Monzo said its Tax Pots have handled £7 billion, while businesses using its payment links get invoices paid an average of 11 days faster. The bank now serves about 16 million personal and business customers overall.
