AI Demand Drives August Revenue Surge at Taiwan Companies

2 reports · First detected 2026-09-11 · Last active 2026-09-16

Demand for artificial-intelligence servers, high-performance computing and next-generation memory is accelerating growth across Taiwan’s core technology supply chain. The gains span semiconductors, computers and peripherals, electronic distributors and components, underscoring the island’s role as a manufacturing hub for global AI infrastructure. Because the exchange data cover companies beyond the technology sector, the August figures also offer a broader gauge of how the AI investment cycle is feeding into corporate activity.

The Taiwan Stock Exchange said on Sept. 11 that August 2026 revenue at 1,052 listed companies reached NT$5.6479 trillion, up 54.2% from a year earlier. Revenue for the first eight months rose 37.01% to NT$38.9274 trillion. The Taipei Exchange said 891 over-the-counter companies posted August sales of NT$364.4 billion, up 47%, while January-August revenue increased 30% to NT$2.5514 trillion. Filings were completed by Sept. 10, with AI-linked industries leading the gains.

Surging investment in artificial intelligence servers, high-performance computing and cloud infrastructure is feeding through Taiwan’s technology supply chain, where semiconductor, computer hardware and electronic-component makers hold pivotal positions. The earnings of companies traded on the Taiwan Stock Exchange and Taipei Exchange provide a key gauge of whether the global AI buildout is translating into orders, capital spending and export growth.

Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission said on Aug. 25 that companies reporting first-half 2026 results as of Aug. 14 posted combined revenue of NT$29.2321 trillion, up NT$7.1316 trillion, or 32.27%, from a year earlier. Revenue figures compiled by the Taiwan Stock Exchange and Taipei Exchange for listed and over-the-counter companies are a key gauge of corporate conditions and Taiwan equities’ fundamentals. Demand for generative AI infrastructure accelerated in the first quarter of 2024 as cloud service providers increased capital spending, boosting orders for Taiwan’s suppliers of AI servers, thermal-management modules and components.

By the end of March 2024, combined first-quarter revenue at Taiwan-listed and over-the-counter companies reached NT$14.36 trillion, up 24.3% from a year earlier and setting a record for the period. Revenue at 183 companies also hit first-quarter highs. Strong shipments by server manufacturers including Quanta Computer and Wistron made AI servers and thermal-management suppliers the main drivers of growth.
