Taiwan Cybersecurity Institute, Microsoft Sign MOU to Bolster Cyber Resilience with AI

Taiwan's National Institute of Cyber Security supports government cybersecurity policy and technical capabilities. As AI accelerates cyberattacks and raises risks to government agencies and critical infrastructure, the institute is drawing on Microsoft Taiwan's global threat intelligence and defensive technologies. The collaboration aims to strengthen cross-agency defense, early warning and incident response capabilities while bringing Taiwan's cybersecurity system into closer alignment with international practices.

On June 8, 2026, institute President Ying-Dar Lin and Marcus Bartley Johns, Microsoft's head of North Asia Government Affairs, signed the MOU on behalf of their organizations. Deputy Minister of Digital Affairs Chia-Ling Yang witnessed the signing. The partnership focuses on threat intelligence, AI-enabled defense, critical infrastructure resilience and zero-trust architecture. The two sides disclosed neither the value nor the duration of the agreement.
