BitGo, ZKsync Partner on Tokenized Deposit Infrastructure for Banks

1 reports · First detected 2026-03-26 · Last active 2026-03-26

Tokenized deposits are onchain digital representations of bank deposits that remain backed by bank liabilities and governed by existing regulatory frameworks, unlike privately issued stablecoins. BitGo’s institutional custody and wallet services, combined with Prividium, ZKsync’s privacy-focused permissioned chain for regulated institutions, could lower adoption barriers by allowing banks to avoid building an entire onchain system themselves.

BitGo and ZKsync announced the partnership on March 25, 2026, enabling banks to issue, transfer and settle tokenized deposits on Prividium while retaining compliance, privacy and control. The platform remains in testing and is intended to support programmable payments. The companies have not disclosed the investment amount, participating banks or a formal launch date.
