2 reports · First detected 2026-07-22 · Last active 2026-07-22

OpenAI is extending its push into workplace artificial intelligence to small businesses, where owners often handle marketing, accounting, sales and operations with limited staff. The company said at least 4 million people in the United States used ChatGPT in March 2026 to plan, launch, operate or expand a business. The initiative is intended to help entrepreneurs use ChatGPT Work to automate routine processes and add capabilities that might otherwise require employees, consultants or specialized software.

OpenAI launched its ChatGPT for small businesses program on July 21, 2026, offering hands-on virtual training, in-person OpenAI Academy sessions across the United States, workflow guides and tools from partners including Dropbox, Shopify, Intuit, Slack, Atlassian and Wix. OpenAI said 78% of participants in its 2025 Small Business AI Jams built a functional AI workflow within one day, while 42% saved more than five hours a week. The company disclosed no program budget or grant amount.
