OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Program for Small Businesses

Small-business owners often juggle marketing, accounting, sales and operations with lean teams and limited resources. OpenAI is positioning artificial intelligence as a way to extend individual expertise and increase capacity. Its new small-business initiative centers on ChatGPT Work, an agent designed to carry out multi-step tasks and complete complex projects, helping entrepreneurs automate workflows and scale operations without adding enterprise-sized teams.

OpenAI launched the ChatGPT for small businesses program on July 21, 2026, offering hands-on virtual training, in-person AI academies across the US, practical guides and partner tools. At last year’s Small Business AI Jams, 78% of participants built a functional AI workflow in one day, while 42% saved more than five hours a week. ChatGPT Work, powered by GPT‑5.6, is now available to businesses of all sizes across all subscription plans.
