Taiwan Depository Delegation Explores Longer US Trading and Tokenization
Extended US equity trading is becoming a strategic issue for brokerages and market infrastructure providers as investors seek access across time zones. Longer hours would require clearing, settlement and risk controls to operate beyond traditional market windows. Meanwhile, real-world asset tokenization is moving conventional securities onto blockchain networks, raising new questions about custody, interoperability and investor protection.
Taiwan Depository & Clearing Corp. recently led a delegation of domestic brokerages to the United States for discussions with Citigroup, the New York Stock Exchange and Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. US institutions shared their approaches to putting traditional securities on-chain and operating across multiple blockchain networks. TDCC focused on strengthening cross-time-zone settlement for longer US trading hours and developing secure custody infrastructure for digital securities.
