Mastercard aims to use digital payments to create verifiable financial footprints and strengthen the financial resilience of underbanked people and micro and small businesses.
Mastercard’s latest pledge is to help an additional 500 million underbanked people and micro and small businesses enter the digital economy by 2030. The initiative will focus on giving participants access to payment tools and enabling them to build transaction histories, expanding their opportunities to obtain bank accounts, financing and other financial products.
