Anthropic Launches Claude Dispatch for Remote Control of AI Agents by Phone

Anthropic’s Claude Cowork is designed to let AI agents carry out multi-step tasks on users’ behalf, ranging from organizing information to handling enterprise workflows. Expanding beyond its original environment to the web and mobile devices could embed the AI virtual coworker more deeply in daily operations and cross-device collaboration, marking an important step in enterprise adoption of generative AI.

Anthropic has announced that Claude Cowork will expand to the web and mobile, with support for cross-platform operation and continuous cloud-based background processing. Early data show that 33.4% of users already employ the tool for business-process operations. However, available reports do not specify an exact release date, subscription price or related investment amount, and the rollout timetable and pricing plans have yet to be announced.

Anthropic’s Claude Code AI development environment was previously used mainly through developers’ local terminals. As agentic coding tasks grow longer, users need to monitor execution, approve permissions and track completion after stepping away from their computers. Remote control addresses that need by extending the existing local environment rather than moving all project files to the cloud.

The latest update allows developers to resume local Claude Code sessions from a phone or browser while retaining access to the local file system and MCP server connections. It also adds mobile push notifications when long-running tasks finish or require approval. As of July 20, 2026, the available information did not specify an official launch date, eligible plans or pricing.

Anthropic introduced a public beta of Computer Use for Claude 3.5 Sonnet as early as October 22, 2024, allowing the model to read screenshots and simulate clicks and typing. The capability is now moving from a developer API to personal desktops. The key shift is that AI can execute complete workflows across applications, rather than merely generate content.

Anthropic announced on April 24, 2026, that Claude could use computers through Cowork and Claude Code, directly opening applications and controlling the mouse, keyboard and browser. The feature is currently a research preview limited to Pro and Max plans and supports macOS and Windows through Claude Desktop. It requests user authorization before sensitive actions.
