The Real World Crypto conference focuses on moving cryptographic technologies from academic research into practical deployment and is a major forum for the global cryptography community. The 15th edition is being held in Taiwan for the first time, covering 12 major topics including post-quantum cryptography, or PQC, privacy-enhancing technologies, or PETs, and zero-knowledge proofs, or ZK. The event highlights Taiwan’s growing international profile in cybersecurity research and industrial applications.

RWC 2026 opened in Taipei in March 2026, bringing together global experts and standards bodies to discuss PQC migration and the societal impact of cryptographic technologies. Four new PQC research findings were also unveiled at the conference. The inventors of public-key cryptography and the team behind the Tamarin Prover formal verification tool received the Levchin Prize for their longstanding contributions to real-world cryptography.
