Georgia’s Five Largest Banks Adopt Nasdaq Calypso

2 reports · First detected 2026-07-20 · Last active 2026-07-20

Georgia’s commercial banking industry has expanded at a double-digit pace over the past five years, with total assets nearing $38 billion, increasing demand for systems able to handle securities, derivatives and tighter regulatory requirements. A shared treasury platform backed by the National Bank of Georgia is intended to spread investment and operating costs while standardizing workflows, market data and reporting. It should also give the central bank better visibility into liquidity, treasury exposures and systemic risk.

Nasdaq and the National Bank of Georgia announced the partnership on July 20, 2026. Bank of Georgia, TBC Bank, Liberty Bank, Terabank and Basisbank will use Nasdaq Calypso through one centralized instance, with each bank configured separately and its data segregated. The system will cover the full trade lifecycle, from deal capture and pricing to risk, compliance, settlement, accounting and financial reporting, and support alignment with ISO 20022. Financial terms were not disclosed; project-management funding is being provided by Japan through the Japan–EBRD Cooperation Fund.
