Mastercard Launches Move-Powered Suite to Streamline Cross-Border Payments for Hong Kong SMEs
Asia-Pacific SMEs expanding across borders are often constrained by legacy banking systems, compliance procedures and limited visibility over their funds. Digital commercial payments in the region are projected to grow 14.7% annually through 2028. Mastercard Move can reach nearly 17 billion payment endpoints and 95% of the world’s banked population across more than 200 countries and territories and over 150 currencies, providing key infrastructure for banks upgrading corporate payments.
Mastercard announced on March 11, 2026, that it would first offer banks and financial institutions in Hong Kong the Mastercard Global Commerce Suite for Small Businesses, powered by Mastercard Move. The suite integrates multicurrency virtual accounts, a single multicurrency card, near-real-time payments, transaction tracking and API connectivity. Mastercard plans to expand the offering later to other selected Asia-Pacific markets.
