Chelpis Launches PQ-SDN Module Combining PQC and MANET to Bolster Drone Communications Resilience
Chelpis is addressing the risk that quantum computing could break existing public-key cryptography by integrating post-quantum cryptography, or PQC, into the underlying communications infrastructure for drones. Combined with a decentralized mobile ad hoc network, or MANET, the technology allows drone swarms to reorganize automatically when nodes lose contact or signals are disrupted, strengthening communications security and mission resilience for military and civilian unmanned vehicles.
Chelpis showcased its “PQ-SDN Secure Wireless Communication Module” at COMPUTEX 2026, held from June 2 to June 5, 2026. The module integrates PQC encryption with MANET self-healing technology to address interference, eavesdropping and single-point-of-failure risks in drone swarms. The company has not yet disclosed the module’s price, the amount invested or a timetable for formal shipments.
