Chang Hsi Says Firming AI Trend Could Propel Taiwan Stocks Toward 50,000 in 2026
Continued growth in demand for AI servers and high-performance computing has made TSMC and the advanced-packaging supply chain central to the Taiwan stock market’s long-term outlook. Investment expert Chang Hsi, widely regarded by the market as a bellwether for bullish sentiment, says AI has evolved from a market theme into an industry trend underpinned by essential demand. Earnings growth at related companies will be a key pillar supporting further gains in the broader market, he said.
Chang’s latest forecast says Taiwan stocks could challenge the “50K” threshold, or 50,000 points, in 2026. Although the market currently appears slightly overheated, he believes TSMC’s AI-driven growth can continue to support the index. He expects the market is more likely to digest valuations through sideways consolidation rather than declines in the second half and remains bullish on long-term themes including advanced packaging.
