POSCO Tokenizes Trade Receivables on Avalanche
Trade receivables represent money owed after goods are delivered but before customers pay, and companies commonly use them to secure working-capital financing. POSCO International’s tokenization effort seeks to place ownership and asset-status records on a shared, auditable ledger, reducing the reconciliation burden across invoices, purchase orders and shipping documents. The project is significant because it applies blockchain infrastructure to live institutional trade finance rather than a purely simulated asset.
POSCO International America said on Aug. 25, 2026, that it completed the transaction with trade-finance platform Olea and asset-finance infrastructure provider Intain. Olea, incubated by Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures, used real capital to acquire the tokenized receivables, while Intain used AI to verify supporting documents before recording the assets on its Avalanche-based Layer 1 network. No transaction value was disclosed. POSCO International, which generates about $22.2 billion in annual revenue, had completed a separate receivables pilot with LG CNS on Injective on July 27.

The history behind this eventPOSCO International, LG CNS Test Receivables Tokenization on Injective
POSCO International, South Korea’s largest trading company, is working with IT services provider LG CNS to explore blockchain-based trade settlement. Cross-border commerce typically requires buyers, sellers and banks to reconcile invoices and receivables across separate systems, creating delays and discrepancies. Tokenizing those claims could establish a single, transferable ledger record, potentially speeding reconciliation, trade finance and international payments.
The companies have begun testing the tokenization of commercial invoices and accounts receivable on the Injective blockchain. The pilot is designed to determine whether participants can use shared onchain records to reconcile transactions and settle payments more quickly. The partners have not disclosed the value or number of receivables involved, or a completion date. POSCO International plans to extend the framework to live commercial operations if the trial succeeds.
