Franklin Templeton and Ondo Advance Onchain Tokenization of Equities

3 reports · First detected 2026-03-25 · Last active 2026-03-25

Tokenizing stocks and ETFs involves using blockchain tokens to represent traditional securities, allowing investors to hold and trade them through crypto wallets. Franklin Templeton, which manages more than $1.7 trillion in assets, has partnered with Ondo Finance in a sign that a major asset manager is expanding real-world assets beyond bond funds to include equity, bond and gold ETFs, while connecting them with onchain investors.

On March 25, 2026, the companies announced that five ETFs spanning equities, bonds and gold would be listed on Ondo Stocks, with 24/7 trading through crypto wallets. Since launching in September 2025, the platform has attracted more than $700 million in locked assets, generated over $12 billion in cumulative trading volume and gained more than 70,000 holders. The products will initially be available in Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America, while U.S. availability awaits greater regulatory clarity.

Ondo Launches DTC-Entitlement-Backed Tokenized Stocks, Sending ONDO Up 17%2026-07-16 · 1 reports · similarity 0.85

The tokenization of real-world assets, or RWAs, is a major trend bridging traditional finance and Web3. Ondo Finance, a leading name in the sector, has long focused on tokenizing high-quality assets such as U.S. Treasuries. Because traditional securities trading depends heavily on central depositories, the ability to connect tokenized assets with established clearing systems while safeguarding legal rights has become a key dividing line for large institutional investors considering entry into the market.

Ondo Finance announced on July 15, 2026, the launch of what it called the first tokenized stocks backed by entitlements at the U.S. Depository Trust Company, initially supporting Circle shares and an S&P 500 ETF. The project connects the tokenized securities to the established depository system through U.S. broker Alpaca Markets. The compliance breakthrough sent the ONDO token up 17% within 24 hours.

Glider, Ondo Finance Launch Custom Tokenized Stock Portfolio Platform2026-03-24 · 1 reports · similarity 0.81

Glider and Ondo Finance are targeting the U.S. tokenized-equities market with a platform that lets retail investors combine multiple stock tokens into personalized portfolios. Under its “direct indexing” model, users hold the underlying assets without buying an ETF or opening a traditional brokerage account, reducing constraints on allocation flexibility arising from ETF liquidity and product design.

The companies recently formally launched the onchain platform, allowing users to select U.S. tokenized stocks, set allocation weights and have the system rebalance portfolios automatically. Available information does not disclose the exact launch date, minimum investment, management fees or initial asset volume. The confirmed core development is that retail investors can now build and manage portfolios directly onchain.
