Ondo Launches DTC-Entitlement-Backed Tokenized Stocks, Sending ONDO Up 17%
The tokenization of real-world assets, or RWAs, is a major trend bridging traditional finance and Web3. Ondo Finance, a leading name in the sector, has long focused on tokenizing high-quality assets such as U.S. Treasuries. Because traditional securities trading depends heavily on central depositories, the ability to connect tokenized assets with established clearing systems while safeguarding legal rights has become a key dividing line for large institutional investors considering entry into the market.
Ondo Finance announced on July 15, 2026, the launch of what it called the first tokenized stocks backed by entitlements at the U.S. Depository Trust Company, initially supporting Circle shares and an S&P 500 ETF. The project connects the tokenized securities to the established depository system through U.S. broker Alpaca Markets. The compliance breakthrough sent the ONDO token up 17% within 24 hours.

The history behind this eventOndo Finance Adds Proxy Voting for Tokenized Stockholders
Tokenized stocks can bring U.S. equities and ETFs onto public blockchains, but holders previously received mostly economic exposure, including price movements and dividends. Unlike clients of traditional brokerages, they generally had limited access to corporate documents and voting. Ondo Finance's new feature adds a shareholder-governance component, helping narrow the rights gap between onchain assets and traditional securities while strengthening transparency and trust in the RWA market.
Ondo Finance announced a partnership on April 28, 2026, with Broadridge Financial Solutions, which processes more than $15 trillion in securities each day. Ondo accounts for about 70% of the tokenized equities market, with more than $700 million in total value locked across the related assets. Holders can use crypto wallets to receive regulatory filings and issuer communications and submit proxy-voting preferences, which Broadridge will aggregate and process.
Ondo Finance Launches SEC-Aligned Model for Tokenized U.S. Stocks and ETFs
Tokenized securities record interests in traditional assets on a blockchain. In January 2026, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission outlined a third-party custody model under which the underlying securities remain within the regulated custody chain. Ondo Finance's initiative brings a model commonly used offshore into the existing U.S. framework. Its overseas platform already holds more than $1 billion in assets spanning over 430 stocks and ETFs.
On July 2, 2026, Ondo Finance launched 1:1 tokenized interests in BlackRock's iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) and Micron Technology (MU) shares on Ethereum. SEC-registered transfer agent Oasis Pro TA handles minting, while Broadridge provides voting, disclosures and shareholder communications. The products are not currently available to U.S. investors.
Ondo Tokenized-Stock Platform Tops $5.5 Billion in Trading Volume as AI Shares Draw Onchain Demand
Ondo Global Markets turns U.S. stocks and ETFs into tokenized assets that can be held and traded through blockchain wallets, making it a notable example of real-world assets bridging traditional finance and onchain markets. Although trading is available around the clock, activity remains heavily concentrated during U.S. market hours. This suggests that the platform currently functions more as an extended-access layer for U.S. equities than as an independent 24/7 market.
An analysis published by the Bitget Wallet Research Institute on June 11, 2026, using data through May 12, showed that cumulative trading volume on Ondo had reached $5.5 billion across 2.8 million transactions and more than 180,000 unique wallets. Retail traders generated nearly 64% of transactions but accounted for only 5% of trading volume. AI-related stocks made up nearly 40% of volume, while almost 99% of trading occurred during U.S. market hours from Monday through Friday.
Binance Revives Tokenized Stock Trading Through Ondo Finance Deal
Tokenized stocks map interests in U.S. equities or ETFs onto a blockchain, allowing eligible investors to hold, trade and use them in DeFi outside traditional brokerages. Binance launched stock tokens including Tesla in April 2021 but discontinued the service that July amid scrutiny from Britain’s FCA and Germany’s BaFin. The return underscores how real-world assets have become a new battleground for exchanges.
On February 24, 2026, Binance announced a partnership with Ondo Finance to add 10 tokenized U.S. stocks, ETFs and commodity-linked products—including Apple, Tesla, Nvidia and Invesco QQQ—to Binance Alpha and Wallet. Ondo’s tokenized-stock market was worth about $605 million at the time, with cumulative trading volume exceeding $11 billion since its September 2025 launch.
Franklin Templeton and Ondo Advance Onchain Tokenization of Equities
Tokenizing stocks and ETFs involves using blockchain tokens to represent traditional securities, allowing investors to hold and trade them through crypto wallets. Franklin Templeton, which manages more than $1.7 trillion in assets, has partnered with Ondo Finance in a sign that a major asset manager is expanding real-world assets beyond bond funds to include equity, bond and gold ETFs, while connecting them with onchain investors.
On March 25, 2026, the companies announced that five ETFs spanning equities, bonds and gold would be listed on Ondo Stocks, with 24/7 trading through crypto wallets. Since launching in September 2025, the platform has attracted more than $700 million in locked assets, generated over $12 billion in cumulative trading volume and gained more than 70,000 holders. The products will initially be available in Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America, while U.S. availability awaits greater regulatory clarity.
Glider, Ondo Finance Launch Custom Tokenized Stock Portfolio Platform
Glider and Ondo Finance are targeting the U.S. tokenized-equities market with a platform that lets retail investors combine multiple stock tokens into personalized portfolios. Under its “direct indexing” model, users hold the underlying assets without buying an ETF or opening a traditional brokerage account, reducing constraints on allocation flexibility arising from ETF liquidity and product design.
The companies recently formally launched the onchain platform, allowing users to select U.S. tokenized stocks, set allocation weights and have the system rebalance portfolios automatically. Available information does not disclose the exact launch date, minimum investment, management fees or initial asset volume. The confirmed core development is that retail investors can now build and manage portfolios directly onchain.
Binance Adds Ondo Tokenized Stocks in Latest Real-World Asset Push
Ondo Finance packages U.S. stocks and ETFs as equity-linked notes and puts them onchain, a form of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization that gives investors access to traditional securities through crypto platforms. Binance halted its stock token service in 2021 amid regulatory pressure in the UK and Germany. As it returns to the sector, the global tokenized stock market has surpassed $1 billion.
On February 24, 2026, Binance listed 10 Ondo tokenized stocks, ETFs and commodity-linked products on its Alpha platform, including Apple, Nvidia and Invesco QQQ. The products are not available to U.S. users. On March 3, the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Abu Dhabi Global Market approved them for trading on Binance’s regulated market. Ondo has recorded more than $11 billion in cumulative trading volume and over $600 million in total value locked.
