TSMC Sees AI Driving Semiconductor Market Past $1.5 Trillion by 2030
TSMC said generative AI is accelerating investment in data centers and advanced computing, broadening chip demand beyond smartphones and personal computers to AI accelerators and servers. High-performance computing, or HPC, has become the main growth driver for advanced processes and packaging and will help shape TSMC’s capacity allocation and capital spending through 2030.
TSMC’s latest forecast projects that continued growth in AI demand will push the global semiconductor market past $1.5 trillion by 2030. HPC, led by AI and servers, could account for 55% of the overall market by then, signaling that the industry’s growth engine is rapidly shifting toward data centers and computing infrastructure.
