Apple Places Over $30 Billion in Broadcom Orders as Chipmaker Expands US Plant

Apple has continued shifting purchases of key chips and components to US suppliers as it seeks to reduce supply-chain concentration risks and expand domestic manufacturing. Broadcom has long supplied Apple with wireless communications components. The latest partnership extends to custom ASICs and will shape several future generations of Apple hardware as well as US semiconductor capacity.

Apple announced in July 2026 that it had signed a long-term procurement contract worth more than $30 billion with Broadcom, covering custom ASICs and next-generation wireless connectivity components for multiple product generations. Broadcom will also invest $1.5 billion to expand its Fort Collins, Colorado, plant. The news sent AVGO shares up nearly 5%.
